Blasket Island Dusk
2014
Natural dye on linen
29.5"L x 20.5"W x 1"D
Natural dye on linen: silk-screen printing, mordant extraction, stitch resist, framed without glass in dark wood floating frame.

To the west of Dingle Peninsula, lie the Blasket Islands. A challenging hike, near the visitor's center, through the alternating mist, wind and sun gave me a glimpse and deep appreciation of what daily life might have been like for the Blasket Island people who inhabited the island until 1953.
